Recently in Santa Clarita, The Signal has published articles with photos of the two sculptures that are being considered for installation at the roundabout site being built in the Newhall area.  Community residents have had different opinions about each of the two pieces.  I am wondering how many people who read The Signal have seen the articles about the art to be erected in the roundabout site?

The SCV Arts Commission offered the two pieces of artwork being considered. The City Council members will be making the final decision of which sculpture to be chosen.  The question is how will the decision be made?
In choosing one of the two pieces of art to be installed in the roundabout site, the city council members will make the decision on which piece of art will be chosen.  They will have to all agree about what this art work will mean to the community residents. When we look at visual art forms we perceive expressive content which may be in the design of these two sculptures to be installed in the ‘roundabout’ site. Looking at the shapes and forms of the two pieces of artwork, it is necessary to find familiar shapes and forms that make these two pieces of sculpture express what the community will understand. By the time my article is read we will know which piece of “art” was chosen by the city council to be installed in the roundabout site. Remember all human beings create expressions and now we will see what the feelings of expression was used for this situation.
