This Veterans Day weekend, join The USO Greater LA Area and Habitat For Humanity San Fernando/Santa Clarita Valleys as they will be breaking ground on a new Habitat Enriched Neighborhood™ and memorial for veterans on Centre Pointe Parkway in Santa Clarita.

The groundbreaking ceremony kicks off a day of fun for the entire family, on Saturday, November 9.  Enjoy delicious barbecue provided by Rattler’s Bar B Que, and a sanctioned chili cook-off.
Come out and support the Entertainment Industries Council construction team Captained by Mark Valley, Gulf War veteran and co-star of such shows as Body of Proof and Harry’s Law. See the amazing site Home Depot has helped fund that is being built in collaboration with the California Department of Veteran Affairs.
Be a kid again in the Disney carnival game area, which includes the Imagine Playground, Mickey Bean Bag Toss and Goofy Golf.  Pose for pictures with real military vehicles, and enjoy live music and a USO-style entertainment show, emceed by K-Earth 101’s Gary Bryan.
All proceeds from this event go to support USO programs for troops and their families, and ongoing support for the Habitat Enriched Neighborhood™ model for veterans.
Earlier this summer, the USO launched a new campaign called Barbecue For The Troops that called on all Americans to fire up the grill and turn the quintessential backyard barbecue into an easy fundraiser to support the troops and their families.  More than 1,000 people across the country signed up to host their own fundraiser!
The Habitat Enriched Neighborhood™ provides no-cost social and educational services, including financial education, health information, dental hygiene, veteran assistance, homeowner education classes and children’s programs such as after-school tutoring.
Admission for adults is $20, and free for military and veterans with proof of service.  Children 12 and under $15.  The event will take place at 21545 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa Clarita from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
