There are kids all over the world who aren’t privileged enough to have a “Merry” Christmas or a “Happy” holiday…but all over the world, there are also people who are doing things to help make the holidays a brighter place.  On Saturday, December 7, Combat Radio held their 3rd Annual Christmas Event For Homeless Children and The Shelter For Domestic Violence.  A loving seven-year-old, Shawn-Robin Dettenmaier, who just had a dream of helping those in need, first started this event, which was put on by Combat Radio and produced by Lota Hadley and Ethan Dettenmaier.

Crews from Universal Studios worked long, hard hours trying to set up the production and that morning, the construction crew arrived to build a beautiful replica of Santa’s sleigh. Combat Radio sent charter busses to pick up over 100 children, ready to give them a Christmas they’ve always dreamed of. With the generous help of Salt Creek Grille, the children and over 200 other people were welcomed to a very cheerful breakfast. Such a large production brought about 60 entertainers including actors dressed as memorable Disney characters, Transformers, and Ironman. A  live broadcast co-hosted by Mark Ryan (who played Bumble Bee in the Transformer films), Richard Epcar (From Robotech, Kingdom Hearts, Legend of Korra) Combat Radio Producer Ethan Dettenmaier and featured the cast from Wolverine/Avengers, Monster High, Falling Skies, Godzilla, Breaking Bad, and Cameron Boyce from Disney Channel’s Jesse also showed their generosity at the event, giving to the 300 people in need.
So many other donations were being made throughout the event such as a silent auction and toy donations. Santa Claus also made a guest appearance, allowing each child to climb up on his sleigh. Each child also walked away with a toy and all of the excess toys are being donated to USMC/ Toys for Tots!  If you missed this amazing event this year, no worries! Be expecting the next Christmas miracle next year on December 6, 2014!
