It was a holiday affair as guests enjoyed an evening of musical delight at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center on Saturday, December 14.  Charlie Brown & Friends, a Family Christmas Concert starring David Benoit, featuring the West Creek Academy Glee Club came to town entertaining fans of all ages with a spectacular performance. 

Contemporary Jazz piano legend and award winning pianist and composer, David Benoit brought Charlie Brown to life on stage with the music of original Peanuts composer, Vince Guaraldi.  Joining David on stage was David Hughes on bass and Jamey Tate on drums along with vocalist Selina Albright, who captured the heart of the audience as she sang Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. 
David Benoit’s recording career began in 1977, including 25 solo recordings, and since 2000, has worked on several Charlie Brown projects including Here’s To You, Charlie Brown: 50 Great Years and 40 Years: A Charlie Brown Christmas.  David continues a role as conductor of the Asia America Symphony Orchestra and leading orchestras such as the L.A. Philharmonic and symphonies of London, Nuremberg, San Francisco, Atlanta, San Antonio and San Jose.  David’s film scores include The Stars Fell on Henrietta, The Christmas Tree and has also been a guest educator with the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation.  In 2010, David was honored with the Lifetime Achievement award at the American Smooth Jazz Awards.
