A new year of renewal! A year of new hopes! A year of new promises! A new year of self-discovery!
Many of us look to the new year for all of these things! Others of us just plug along as a new year doesn’t even exist!

I have always looked at the new year as renewal. Like a fresh spring day after the snow has just melted and the crocus’s start to stick their heads out of the ground. The grass starts to re-grow and mud and rains wash away all the old from the previous year; guess you would have to be from a snow area to appreciate this, none the less it’s beautiful!
Like nature, we as humans need the same type of renewal, mind, body and soul. Not trying to be corny, but it’s true! We strive to keep busy during the winter months so that we can be prepared for the all mighty summer! Trying a new diet, promising to lose those extra pounds, stop smoking or maybe just to be a better person all the way around!
2014 promises nothing, yet everything! What every makes you happy! Whatever you want to make it! The new year is yours for the taking!
We all have traditions, our ideals about what the New Year is to us!
My New Years resolution is all about renewal. I try every new year to be a better person, I try to learn from each and every mistake I have made and try to turn my negatives into a positive. We cannot change what already is here, we can only grow from our experiences and renew our old ways and hopefully change the way we deal with our future.
Each of us has a tendency to become stagnant and forget why we do the things that we do. I think if each of us take a step back, and take a look at ourselves and our daily lives, we can see that renewal is truly the best resolution you can give to yourself, instead of a resolution with no meaning.
