Recently, a young man representing Boy Scout Troop 58 based out of Saint Clare Catholic Church visited me. This nice young man is currently working on his Eagle project and was collecting toothbrushes for the families served by the Santa Clarita Food Pantry. Currently the Food Pantry has approximately 3,000 active clients, half of which are children. Their goal is to provide clients who may not have access to proper dental care with new toothbrushes. We salute everyone out there trying to make a difference.

We are affiliated with The Give Back a Smile Program, a charitable organization of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, which has allowed us to use our talents to provide cosmetic dental care to victims who have sustained dental trauma as a result of domestic violence, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and their Lock-Up Fundraiser which is taking place October 3 at the Outback Steak House in Valencia, as well as a recent visit we made to a preschool to assess dental health in correspondence with the new Kindergarten Law here in California. I enjoy taking the time to reach out because it can be very rewarding. At the request of one of my patients, I was fortunate to participate at an elementary school for their Career Day. I was truly honored that she thought to consider me a role model.”
Dr. Goodrick also mentions that getting your teeth cleaned on a regular basis by a dental hygienist who provides insight into good home care can reduce the risk of the many systemic diseases, such as heart attacks and strokes. Selecting the right hygienist is as important as selecting the right physician, surgeon or dentist. You have a choice, and you should be actively involved in your oral health.
