Santa Clarita’s Film Office keeps the cameras rolling in our town! Because of its successful efforts to entice nearby music, film and television producers to pull permits, there’s always something filming on location in our valley. Keep your eyes open, and your cameras ready, to report your Celebrity Sighting to The Magazine!
Jessica Ferguson, event coordinator for MB2 Raceway, snapped a photo of CSI star George Eads with raceway reps when he was filming on location recently at the exciting indoor kart race complex. According to a recent MB2 press release, actors, producers, stuntmen, studio executives and location managers frequent the facility to compete, train and stage unique private, corporate and wrap parties. David Rambo and Rich Catalani, lead writers on the hit television series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, were so enthralled with MB2 when racing there with their families that they brought their CSI writers to the venue and later pitched a story concept involving the track. The concept became an episode titled, “Ala Kart,” which aired on Thursday, October 4. Will Miller, general partner of MB2 Raceway, couldn’t be more thrilled. He says, “MB2 has enjoyed tremendous support from the motion picture community.” The raceway has been a featured partner in projects facilitated by Disney Studios, Universal Studios, MTV, E-Entertainment Television, Cal Arts and more. Dave Grohl and his Band The Foo Fighters were recently spotted by fans Alyssa Devanzo and Amy Quaintance at the Westfield Mall shooting a music video for a song off their new album. Grohl was more than happy to pose with the star-struck girls.
In addition to filming, celebrities can be found partaking in a favorite Santa Clarita pastime — hitting Town Center for a shopping spree! A Santa Clarita resident reported seeing High School Musical starlets Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale giving their credit cards a workout on Monday, September 24. Photos of the dressed-down, sunglass-sportin’ duo’s day soon surfaced on the Internet. Fans stared as the two drank ice blendeds, checked their cell phones for messages and shopped to their hearts’ content.
Thanks to those who sent in their recent close encounters of the celebrity kind.
