There’s always something so special about this time of year. As I was driving around our city the other day, I couldn’t help but notice that the parks were a little busier with the arrival of spring sports. What a great opportunity we are providing for our children to engage in team activity and physical fitness. The beautiful weather we have here also makes it inviting to be outdoors. Happy Spring, Santa Clarita!
The last few months have been quite busy with events, and just as spring has arrived, so too have the stars. Thank you for all your celebrity sighting submissions. I always enjoy reading the emails and seeing the photographs of you with some of your favorite superstars.
It wouldn’t be a Celebrity Waiters event if there weren’t any celebrities, right? Just last month, I had the opportunity to attend the SCV Senior Center’s Celebrity Waiters Dinner at the Hyatt and immediately spotted one of my favorite actors…Bryan Dattilo! Bryan is best known for his role as Salem’s manipulating and scheming Lucas Horton on NBC daytime soap opera, Days of Our Lives. Bryan starred opposite Alison Sweeney, a.k.a. Sami Brady. Bryan was participating in the Celebrity Waiter Dinner and was kind enough to take a photo with me. Don’t mind my attire, I was playing the role of Gomez from The Addams Family for the evening!
The talented Tippi Hedren was also in attendance at the event. Tippi made her film debut in Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds, followed by her leading role opposite Sean Connery in Marnie. She also is the founder of Shambala Preserve, a wildlife habitat located in Acton. For more pictures of the Celebrity Waiter Dinner, see page 51.
Some of our next celebrity’s memorable roles include Lt. Martin Castillo in the 80’s television series, Miami Vice and Jaime Escalante in Stand and Deliver. Actor Edward James Olmos has played many starring roles in television and film and was kind enough to take a photo with Santa Clarita residents Brooke and Darren Hames.
