“Inspired!” “Pride!” “Nostalgic!” “Dedication!” Those were the words used by members to describe Assistance League’s 25th Anniversary celebration held on Sunday, February 16, at the Tournament Players Club Valencia.
Among 91 past and present members attending were six of the 11 steering committee, 17 of the 64 founding members and 11 of the 17 presidents. Members Mamie Kosaka and Leslie Peyton co-chaired the celebration. Mayor Pro Tem Marsha McLean, Senator Steve Knight, and State Assemblyman Scott Wilk presented Assistance League with certificates and proclamations from the City Council and from Senator Fran Pavely.
It was a fun evening reflective of the zeal and energy of the chapter’s goals and programs, including our present programs: Operation School Bell®, Family Ties, Teddy Bear Patrol, Project Prom, and Board Buddies. Moneys are raised from The 5K Run, The Resale Store, and Sunset in the Vineyard, as well as from our gracious donors.
