Singin’ in the Rain is a zany, light-hearted romantic comedy about the early days of talking motion pictures. Set in 1920’s Hollywood as a silent film production company and cast make a difficult transition to sound. The company finds itself scrambling to salvage the career of Lina Lamont, a silent picture star with a voice like a chipmunk. They finally decide to overdub Lina’s voice and hire an aspiring actress to do the job.
However when the audience clamors for Lina to sing live, and when the leading man falls in love with the unknown actress dubbing Lina’s voice, there is plenty of trouble!
Based on the classic Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film, Singin’ in the Rain has been faithfully adapted from the movie. Each unforgettable scene, song and dance is accounted for, including the show-stopping title number and a fabulous onstage rainstorm! Hilarious situations, snappy dialogue, and a hit-parade score of Hollywood standards make Singin’ in the Rain the perfect entertainment for any fan of the golden age of movie musicals.
