If you haven’t heard about sushi, this article is for you.  Sushi is a Japanese delicacy made of cooked rice and fish wrapped firmly in seaweed.  Although the fish is usually raw, it can be cooked or marinated.
When you are going to order, you will be handed a small dish to pour soy sauce into.

You should try to add a small amount of wasabi and stir it into your soy sauce.  Wasabi almost looks like avocado so don’t be fooled!  It’s very hot and spicy so just add a small amount if you don’t like it too hot.  Along with the little mound of wasabi, you will also get pickled ginger.  Pickled ginger is provided to rinse your palate after taking each bite of sushi.  Try dipping your sushi into your mixture of soy sauce with wasabi and you’ll see how amazing all the flavors taste!
If you haven’t tried eating raw food, try sushi dishes served with cooked fillings or California rolls that have nothing raw but has a creamy and rich taste of cooked crabmeat with cucumber and avocado.
Do not confuse yourself between sushi and sashimi.  These two are different Japanese dishes.  Sushi is fish with rice wrapped in seaweed while sashimi is fish served without rice.
