Are you ready for some chili cook off fun?  Don’t miss out as the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department presents their Fun in the Sun Chili Cook Off next month!  More than 25 chili cooks from throughout the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department will compete for several awards in various categories including Grand Master and People’s Choice.

The Chili Cook Off will take place on Saturday, October 4 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Jack Bones Equestrian Center in Castaic.  This annual event raises funds for Special Olympics of Southern California’s athletes.  Along with delicious chili, there will be classic cars, live music, crafts, a Kids’ Zone and department displays.
Admission is free, but with the purchase of a tasting card for only $10 for adults and $5 for children under 14, you can sample the chili from the competitors.  Taste and vote for your favorites and enjoy a day with the family to benefit a great cause.
All proceeds from this year’s Chili Cook Off will benefit the Special Olympics of Southern California, an organization that helps changes the lives of people with intellectual disabilities through sports training and competition.
The Jack S. Bones Equestrian Center is located at 26983 Tapia Canyon Road off the 5 freeway.
