Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 18 as the West Ranch High School Band, and Band Boosters, present the 6th Annual Wildcat Classic. The Wildcat Classic is a Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) Marching Band Competition.
This will be the first opportunity of the fall season to see all the Wm. S. Hart District High School Marching Bands perform their newest shows, all in one venue. In addition to local high schools, Marching Bands from the surrounding valleys, the Greater LA area, and Ventura and Kern counties, have been invited to participate in this year’s competition.
Marching Bands will be competing by division, followed by a showcase performance of the outstanding, West Ranch High School Wildcat Marching Band & Colorguard, 2012 SCSBOA State Champions. The evening will culminate in an awards ceremony with trophies presented in each division, as decided by SCSBOA judges.
Each band will be judged on their music performance, visual effects, and how it all comes together for the overall general effect. Judging of the music performance is based on musicianship, technique, and musical repertoire. The visual performance, is judged on composition, technique, and excellence, often highlighted by a Colorguard providing visual interpretation of the music.
The West Ranch High School Band will be hosting the Wildcat Classic at the Valencia High School stadium. The competition will begin approximately 5pm. Tickets are $10.00 each. Concessions will be available onsite.
Come and support your favorite area high schools! Alumni are welcome to support their Alma Mater, and younger students can get a glimpse of the high school music experience. Be sure to save the date, Saturday, October 18. Bring your friends and family to enjoy the spectacular Wildcat Classic Marching Band Field Show.
