In their 20th year of bringing The Nutcracker life, the Santa Clarita Ballet Company once again highlights the holiday season with this enchanting ballet.

Fans of this timeless story of Marie and her beloved Nutcracker are invited to experience a magical adventure that begins at an elegant Christmas party where gifts are exchanged, guests dance, and children marvel at the wonder and surprises before them.  As if a dream, the story journeys into the festive Land of Sweets, but not before an exciting battle between toy soldiers and the formidable Rat King.
To kick off the 20th celebration of The Nutcracker ballet, the Santa Clarita Ballet will be participating in free community events hosted by the Santa Clarita Public Library on three Sunday afternoons — November 23 at 2 p.m. at the Canyon Country Library, November 30 at 2 p.m. at the Valencia Library, and December 7 at 2 p.m. at the Old Town Newhall Library.  Children are welcome to come enjoy the story of the Nutcracker which will be read aloud by one of the cast members.  Characters from the ballet will be there, too, so bring your camera for a charming photo opportunity!  For more information about events at the Santa Clarita Public Library, please visit the events page at www.santaclaritalibrary.com.
The Nutcracker ballet will be performed this December 20 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and December 21 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons. Tickets are on sale now. Tickets are not sold through the Performing Arts Center.
