Selling beads has been a family business for Gayle Joy, owner of Beads ‘n Other Needs, for over 40 years. Gayle grew up with a love and appreciation of beading and the ever-changing fashions in jewelry and beadwork and enjoys helping her customers develop the skills and the passion for beading. Gayle feels strongly about reaching out to the community as well, donating to the Michael Hoefflin Foundation and The Painted Turtle annual event and advertising with local schools and charities.
Beads n’ Other Needs offers an extensive selection of vintage and contemporary glass beads, Swarovski crystals, flatback rhinestones, adhesives, semi-precious stones, bead kits, Japanese and Czech seed beads and Delica beads just to name a few. The store also carries tools, wire, chain, and findings in different metals including sterling silver and gold-filled components.
Seeking some inspiration? Classes are offered for beginner to advanced enthusiasts to create beautiful, wearable works of art. Choose from a large variety of classes, which provide detailed instruction on piecing together crystal dragonfly pendants, freeform wire rings, Viking weaving bracelets, delicate Russian chain stitch leaves and more. Over 100 book titles as well as Bead and Button, Beadwork, Bead Style and Wire Artist magazines provide more ideas as does the in-store “Wall of Inspiration,” showcasing eye-catching recent pieces.
Gayle and her knowledgeable staff look forward to welcoming you to the store and helping you with bead selections and designs. If you haven’t visited Beads n’ Other Needs in a while, swing on by for a visit and fall in love with beads all over again.
