As a family business in a small city, we would not have the success we’ve had without the support of the local community. Residents of the Santa Clarita Valley are extremely loyal both to local businesses as well as local charities. The philanthropy that goes on in this valley is truly admirable and quite astonishing.
The amount of time and energy that is spent supporting those in need has been a true inspiration for me at Ro Ma Jewelers. I have had the privilege of working with the phenomenal women of the Soroptimists, the volunteers at Henry Mayo, as well as the leaders of the Boys and Girls Club. Each and every organization strives to further their cause in such a way that maximizes the amount of aid that is passed on to those in need. This hard work is reflected in the numerous events, benefits, and fund-raisers that are held on a constant basis.
This year is already off to a great start with many events on the books. I will be a “model” (the term is used very loosely in my case) in the Soroptimist’s annual “Cruising with Friends” Fashion Show this year. The proceeds from this event go towards benefiting local women and children in need. Beyond my “modeling” debut, we have sponsored five young girls so that they will be able to attend and participate in this year’s fashion show.
Before the Soroptimist event, we will be hosting a Cocktail Party at the store on March 12 benefitting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. On the night of the event, I will be raffling off a Tag Heuer Watch, a Raymond Weil watch, and a Mont Blanc Pen with 100 percent of the money raised from raffle ticket sales going straight to LLS. The tickets for this raffle are now available and can be purchased at www.romaraffle.com. In addition, 10 percent of the proceeds from any sales made on the evening of the party will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I am confident that our mutual cooperation and effort will make these events as well as future events a big success.
