Mayor Antonovich and his Chief Deputy Kathryn Barger, along with community leaders and volunteers, celebrated the grand opening of the Placerita Canyon Nature Center Museum.
The Museum will be a vital component in our county’s network of recreational facilities, parks and trails that improves the quality of life for our residents,” said Mayor Antonovich.
The Museum was made possible with support from the California State Department of Parks, the Placerita Canyon Nature Center Association; and Mayor Antonovich’s office.
The Museum will include large dioramas depicting Placerita Canyon’s three primary ecosystems, a wall-sized freshwater aquarium, a bird-viewing area with an observation deck, and the mural “Daylight to Nocturnal,” which serves as the backdrop for the museum’s collection of taxidermy animals.
