Santa Clarita is home to a vibrant lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer, community, who often do not feel comfortable attending their high school prom. The OUTProject in Antelope Valley has solved this problem with an LGBTQA, Straight, and Ally Prom.
For the third year in a row, Saugus High School, home of one of the strongest GSA’s in SCV, is planning to attend…with a group of 22 students. Although the group has raised $2,273, they are still $817 from their goal. This money is used to buy tickets for each couple, dinner, limo rental, and possibly flowers.
This is a great experience for all, rivaling even the school-sanctioned prom, with both LGBTQA+ and straight couples attending in mass.
