I handle about 10 new calls about divorce per day and start about 40 or so new divorce cases per month. This has gone on for the last three years.
In every call there are 10 questions that I find myself answering every single time. So I thought I would answer them in this article. The reason I am only answering four is because I only get 400 words per article.
1. How Long Does Divorce Take? The short answer is six months. The soonest you can be single in California is six months and one day after the process is started. This is to give the spouses time to reconcile. It does happen once in a while! However, we don’t take six months to complete your paperwork. We usually have everything done between 30 to 60 days. Keep in mind, this is if your case is amicable. Otherwise it could take a lifetime.
2. How Does Our Process Work? We literally take care of everything… From filling out the forms, taking them down to court, filing and serving. You name it, we do it. The only thing we need from you is the information for the forms and your signatures. We handle all the processes and procedural aspects of your divorce.
3. Will I Have to Go to Court? I get this question so much that I dedicated last month’s entire article to answering this. If you are in agreement, you won’t have to go to court!
4. How Much Does It Cost? We have flat fee pricing. We do this so you know what you’re getting yourself into. Our prices start at just $699. Compare this to an attorney where the normal retainer or what I like to call, “getting started money” is $5,000.
