I’ve learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he or she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage and tangled Christmas tree lights.  And speaking of Christmas, we are now in the holiday season and have to deal with many decisions.  There will be those who make things happen for their families for Christmas and there are those who watch things happen by watching others do things for their families for Christmas and there are those who wondered what happened so quickly to the days speeding by before all things should be done and ready for Christmas.
We will see and witness many things happening in the visual arts as each day draws closer to Christmas, village lighted stores and streets, homes decorated and filled with color and the season is filled with visions of people’s creativity.  The arts are not seasonal they are not for a specific time of the day or year, they are part of the flow of life, of life that overlaps and merges one thing into another.  We feel this during the Christmas season.

December is the month we all use our creativity in shopping, decorating, designing the Christmas tree, preparing the holiday dinner and dressing up to look especially beautiful for the day and to worship.  The month of December gives us a jumpstart on the creative process of being inspired and using our imagination, intuition and insight to make the holiday season full of fun, beauty, spirit, love and enjoyment.  We will want to enjoy all of the arts listening to music, enjoying dancing, going to the theater, writing Christmas notes and spread our feelings of joy and love through technology by sending computer holiday messages to friends and families.

During this holiday season our creativity has no fears, we will find ourselves using our creativity in many ways as we buy gifts, make gifts, plan parties, invite new friends to come and enjoy Christmas cheer and many other ways we employ our creativity.  The power of the arts will be all around as we look and enjoy the decorations in our neighborhoods, stores and homes, it is the time of the year we all celebrate our creativity, however, we wish to express ourselves by singing, laughing, eating, writing, dancing, talking and sharing our feelings of the season.

We can enjoy visits to the art museums and art gallery exhibits and show our guests the beauty of Southern California.  ‘Tis the season to enjoy all of the beauty created by people and how wonderful everything looks for the Christmas Season. Enjoy everyone and all of the visual art.  Felize Navidad.
