Most people who live in California take for granted what a wonderful state we live in. With one of the most diverse and prolific economies, California is not only a leader in the United States but also in the world. The fourth graders at Santa Clarita Christian School had a firsthand exposure to some of California’s past and present treasures as they ventured across our state from May 6 through the 8th.
The class discovered the wonder’s of God’s creation at Yosemite, the birth place of the Gold Rush in Coloma, the wealth of California agriculture in the Central Valley and the thriving technology industry of Silicone Valley. Along the way, they enjoyed a look inside the wonders of candy making at the Jelly Belly Factory, the important history of the American railroad and a visit to our State Capitol. Having a better understanding of how great and diverse our state is will help make our students better citizens and contributors to its continued prosperity.
