Wow so many options, how can a parent decide on what is right for their child: traditional school, private schools, home school, on line schools, middle college high schools, alternative schools, supplemental education schools, or hybrid models. This is so confusing!

Most parents will choose a public option because it is familiar and offers the options of extracurricular activities, an organized system including well-developed special education and advanced placement options as well.
Santa Clarita now has many of these options and it is imperative parents consider visiting facilities to make sure the option is a good fit for their child. When you are choosing to take a course off campus there are some considerations, including:
• Is the institution fully WASC accredited?
• Will the course meet State and Common CORE Standards?
• Will there be an actual classroom or is it online?
• What is the Institutions specialty? No one can be good at everything!
• Does the school meet U-C a-g and NCAA eligibility accept the course?
• If the price is too good to be true it probably is! Most likely it does not provide instructional services included in the price and you need to pay for instruction.
One great option is Math Support Services. Students can take a transferable course if they are: repeating a class, need a smaller class size to be successful, are involved in sports or the class they need is not available The individual attention afforded to students is also effective for students with anxiety, Sp. Ed., LD, ADD or an those with an IEP or 504.  Tutoring is another popular option to help your children achieve success.
