Thank you, Santa Clarita Valley! Thank you for helping us to find a well-deserving family for the 3rd Annual A.Allbright Painting Giveaway. Because we so enjoy giving back to our community, we decided we needed to give even more this year and increased the giveaway to $7,500. We had many stories to choose from and it was not an easy decision. On Wednesday, November 21st, our team voted for which family we wanted to help this year. I just wanted to take a moment to share with you the story of this year’s recipient.
Jacob DeLong is 8 years old and the second child in his family to be diagnosed with Leukemia. His older brother Justin lost his battle with Leukemia in 2000. His mom, Lisa, has quit her job to care for her son while he battles this disease. She has also invested much of her time to help other families of children who have been diagnosed with cancer. She is a beacon of hope to others with her kindness and her understanding.
Because of the medical expenses, Jacob’s family could never afford painting services and it would bring hope into their lives as they face this difficult situation.
This story touched every member of A.Allbright’s team. Many said they could not choose who was most deserving because there were so many deserving families! It seems to get harder every year to choose and some members of the team have asked if we could simply draw a name randomly. When we called the family, it was a blessing to all to hear the joy in their voices at the news that they are recipients of this year’s giveaway. The A. Allbright Painting team is looking forward to making a difference in this family’s life.
