When George and Sherry Rifold opened George’s Bistro on the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, it was an immediate success. From the time they opened in the morning until closing, their restaurant was a sought after destination for great food and fun. Soon it became the place to be for meeting new friends, enjoying delicious dinners with family or having a special party for large groups.
George and Sherry had roots in Valencia and kept a watchful eye on the growth of the community. Dovetailing their loyalty to the community with support and encouragement from friends and family, they decided to open George’s Bistro in Gateway Village.
Their goal was to continue serving their culinary delights from all over the world to the local market in Valencia. They wanted to serve the employees at the nearby industrial park, the families in the residential area and the socialites who wanted a top-notch local restaurant for good food, in a fun atmosphere. With their daughter Diana in the management role, they are meeting all their goals and earning a stellar reputation for serving exceptional food and reasonable pricing.
The menu is California cuisine which means “something for everyone.” On Tuesdays, they offer imPASTAble “pasta” dinners at half price! On February 23rd they started serving family breakfast and brunches from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday.
Diana says, “To have George’s Bistro from Santa Monica, right here in Valencia validates the loyalty my parents have to the community. We’re family-owned and operated. We live here. We take pride in what we serve and our menu is an inspired fusion of the best elements from the original French and Italian cuisines. We want to be on a first name basis with our guests and we’ll do whatever we can to make sure their visit is a pleasant one. We want to keep them returning time and time again.”
