Local promoters bring big-name music to COC
Marks Brothers Entertainment Group is an independent promotions company bringing big-name musical acts to Santa Clarita. Founded by five local entrepreneurs (none of whom are actually brothers) MBEG launched their concert series at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons with legendary R&B super group Kool & the Gang on January 22, 2008. “The audience was on their feet dancing and singing along for most of the show,” one attendee commented. “It was great, we’ll definitely be back.”
Gold Feather Realty, Inc and the City of Santa Clarita presented the event, and several local businesses sponsored, including the Paseo Club, PACC Auto, the Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts, Lightning Limousine, Westfield Valencia Town Center and La Quinta Inn & Suites.
On February 21 Gold Feather Realty Inc and the City of Santa Clarita welcomed country music star Blake Shelton (“Some Beach,” “Austin.”) A Marks Brothers Event.
“We’re interested in getting really hot bands, performers you know and listened to while you were growing up, to come to Santa Clarita” explains John Bryan, managing partner of Marks Brothers. “To see this level of talent you’d have to drive to LA or Orange County. After Kool & the Gang, people said ‘We made it home in ten minutes!’ The [Santa Clarita] Performing Arts Center is a state of the art venue and this community deserves a chance to host top notch talent.”
Look for rock and roll giants Kansas in March, Smash Mouth in April, and Travis Tritt in June.
