A lovely lady by the name of Patricia Cordova came into my studio. Her courage to express her sensuality through photography came from her conviction that, I am still beautiful and sexy regardless. Her intimate boudoir photos will be a courageous reminder of an empowered woman, mother and daughter.
As I photograph women I find too many of my clients do not believe they are beautiful. One of the major set backs I see in women is their perception of themselves. Especially women who are in their mid thirties and have dedicated their lives to their children and homes. Too often I see that a 38 year old will compare herself to a 24 year old. As a photographer who has worked with Playboy I admit that a young body is beautiful in their own right, perky breasts, smooth flawless skin, not a stretch mark in sight, but there is more to the essence of a woman. Women need to embrace their sensual beauty which is not about looks. Sensuality is about who you are and the unique life experiences that have contributed to your essence. It is seen by looking into the eyes of a woman who has loved, lived and cared for another.
My clients are real wives, real mothers, real partners and real women. They come in all sizes, shapes, ages, professions and socioeconomic status. My photographic images empower women, my camera is the instrument by which a woman increases her self assurance. My calling is to give women the opportunity to embrace their essence and achieve greatness.
For many of my clients, boudoir photography is not about objectifying themselves, it is about discovering an appreciation that what they have at this time is beautiful, it is about being completely at home in one’s body. It is about being at peace with one’s self, it is about knowing of one’s divine awareness.
Real women who explore their sensuality through boudoir photography will ultimately recognize the beauty of their bodies. The same bodies which overcame cancer, childbirth and the effects of time. They will display a sense of self-assurance by reflecting on their abilities to be a woman in the world today.
So when you decide to go out on a limb and shop for a boudoir photographer, scrutinize very closely, will they capture your sexuality or sensuality?
