Tammy Morrell, office manager at MD Weight Control Medical Clinic and former owner of The Ark Christian Bookstore, is going to Thailand. The Sanctuary church is sending Tammy and 15 others to assist the national organization ZOE in its efforts to rescue children who have been or are at risk of being sold into prostitution slavery.  According to the founders of ZOE International, “The numbers of children who are sold into slavery across the globe are growing in epidemic proportions.

Human trafficking for the purposes of sexual exploitation is expected to eclipse the drug and weapons trade as the number one source of revenue for organized crime.”  The founders, Michael and Carol Hart, former residents of Santa Clarita (Carol attended Hart High School), have committed their lives to help these desperate children find safety and hope through the loving care provided by missionaries and staff at ZOE Children’s homes.

The vision of ZOE is stated as L.I.F.E. C.H.A.N.G.E…one rescued child at a time.
* LAUNCH public awareness about child trafficking and the solution.
* INSPIRE the children to pursue their dreams and become all God intended them to be.
* FEED the children a nutritious, well-balanced meal plan.
* EDUCATE the children from pre-school to high school, and beyond.
* COMMIT to provide long-term comprehensive care for children.
* HOUSE the children in safe, loving, joy-filled homes, staffed by high quality caregivers.
* ACT in support of government and legal efforts.
* NURTURE the children-spirit, soul and body.
* GIVE by the grace of God, restorative, rehabilitative care.
* EQUIP the children with principles for success and positive life skills for the future.
