The Magazine of Santa Clarita’s Annual Best Mom Mother’s Day contest was another wonderful expression of how much Mother’s are loved. Our winner this year came from Blanca Schreier of Castaic who wrote a lovely letter to her mother. Blanca and her mom will be treated to a lovely dinner courtesy of the Roast House in Saugus. Read Blanca’s kind and inspiring words below:
Mami,
I am writing these words to thank you for everything you have done and everything you still do for me. Thank you for your love and support, for all the moments that I know you sacrifice for your family. I also thank you for:
• Being our personal teacher when we were at school, I still remember that you took some classes so can help us with our homework.
• Being our 24-hour Nurse. I know you took a short nursing course so you could take good care of us.
• All your sacrifice, I know there were days that you had to skip a meal for us, that you had to cry in secret because we didn’t have money but again you were strong in front of us.
• Making time to play with us.
• Making me believe that I can reach my dreams, and even better, to make sure I can reach my dreams.
• Teaching me how to appreciate what I have and make sure I share with others.
• All your sayings that always drove me crazy but thanks to them made me a better person “The beauty depends on the nice actions you show” or “Never look down when you fail, learn from your mistakes “ “Communication is the key of success” and many more………
• Teaching me the value of family, to respect my sisters and brother.
• Laughing and crying with me.
• Being the example of a good wife, best mother and unconditional friend.
• For being the best abuelita (grandma).
Mami — We live in a different country and one more time you are proving your love for us, trying to learn the language, trying to adapt your life style and giving up your time so you can help with your grandkids.
