The first program called Movies at the Lake began on June 13. The community was invited to bring snacks, a comfortable chair or blanket and enjoy a family movie in Paradise Cove on the Lagoon. Vehicle parking is $11, but the movie is free!
Movies at the Lake are also scheduled for July 11th, August 8th, September 5th and October 3rd.
Another new family program at Castaic Lake is the Summer Campfire Talks Series. Fascinating topics will be discussed every Saturday, at the new campground amphitheater on the east of the Lagoon, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. These are the topics for July:
July 5 — A Look at Nature
July 12 — Scuba Diving with Lake Lifeguard Oscar Villagomez
There will also be talks about sailing, kayaking, fishing, astronomy and local history.
