Ok.  I’ve been reading up on this reverse psychology stuff, and it seems that since childhood, we are more likely to do something if we are told not to do it.

Now brace yourself, because I am going to use this advanced and powerful “reverse psychology” technique on you!  It is so powerful that you may not even realize that I’m doing it!  Now, let’s see if this works:

Do not call my office for an estate planning consultation.  Lawyers are evil people, and you Must stay away from them!  Don’t worry about procrastination.  Everybody’s doing it!  It’s very chic.  Procrastinating is your friend.

Whatever you do, Please do not do any estate planning.  Lawyers will make you talk about money, death, family dynamics, and other generally unpleasant and “yucky” things.  Estate Planning is simply too mysterious for regular people to understand.  Don’t even bother trying to get your mind around it.  Besides, estate planning is only for rich people.

Estate planning should be postponed until the last possible second.  As they say, “If it wasn’t for the last second, nothing would ever get done!”  Don’t listen to lawyers and their “scare tactics.”  Remember what Shakespeare said!

If you become unable to handle your affairs, it will simply add “excitement” to your life.  After all, what is life without some mystery and excitement?  And if you die, you will be dead anyway, so who cares about your family?  Financial and health decisions are “pieces of cake” since I’m sure everyone in your family gets along.  Everything will be just fine.  There is no need to think about this stuff.  Just live for the moment, and stop worrying about tomorrow!  Even if your kids end up with “zero,” that is not your problem!

OK.  Enough “reverse psychology.”  Did it work?

Of course, I am kidding around.  I’m hoping that I actually encouraged you to take action, because estate planning is not only for the benefit of your heirs, but also for your benefit should you become unable to handle your own affairs.
So pick up the phone today and make an appointment.  I can almost guarantee you will feel better once you get the “ball rolling.”
