Any time I see new construction I’m immediately curious as to what is being built. And if you’ve driven by Bridgeport Marketplace on the corner of Newhall Ranch Road and Mc Bean in Valencia, you’ve seen constant construction for several months now. Everything from Red Mango to Kabuki to Walgreen’s are quickly opening. But what is being built behind the fence on the northeast corner of the property? That is the future home of Real Life Church! The building will be 40,000 square feet complete with a 1,200 seat auditorium, exciting children’s space, coffee house and meeting space for community and neighborhood events. The building will also be environmentally friendly. Partially subterranean, this structure will demand far less energy to heat and cool.
Real Life is a non-denominational church that started in Edwards Cinemas seven years ago. Since outgrowing that space, we have moved to West Ranch High School at the top of W. Valencia Blvd while our building is being completed. If you’ve never been to RLC, we like to describe it as a “church for those who don’t like church (and even those who do).” If you’ve stayed away from church because you think it will be boring, we think you’ll find the great music, relevant teaching, fun and exciting programs for kids and real people to be refreshing! And that’s just to mention the Sunday service! Every week groups from RLC participate in community service projects, at the Hunger Defense Fund, with the Special Olympics, Bible studies, camping trips, golf outings, High School Battle of the Bands, and much more.
Even though the church building will be great, don’t wait until it’s done to check out the church! Come by and see what’s going on at Real Life Church this weekend. This month we are kicking off the fall with many new and exciting opportunities for you and your family to get connected.
