It feels as if it were yesterday that I was strapping my twins, Melissa and Darren into their car seats to go to a Mommy and Me class.  Today, my now 18 year-old twins are fastening their own seat belts before taking off in their own cars.

I’m sure most parents like me are suddenly hit with the big question  “Where did all the time go?”  Having keepsakes and memories will help recapture those wonderful years that just seem to have flown by without warning.

With April being National Poetry Month, I wanted to share this beautiful poem with all of the parents who are either fastening their babies car seats or watching them drive off on their own.

Sometimes you get discouraged
because I am so small
I leave my little hand prints
on furniture and walls.  But every day I’m growing,
I’ll be big some day
and all my tiny fingerprints
will surely fade away. So here’s a lasting keepsake
so you can still recall
how sweet my little hands were
when I was very small.
