Santa Clarita Artists’ Association Art (SCAA) is gearing up to host its 19th annual fundraiser, the Art Classic on Nov 9, 2008.  Artist Jane Mick was the big winner in last year’s Classic.  For over 18 years she has been a professional sign painter at “A Sign of Quality” in Newhall.  She can be seen producing and installing signage around town at locations such as: Steve’s Florist, Auto Spa Car Wash, Custom Floors, Frontier Toyota and Valencia BMW.
Jane’s fine art is getting rave reviews due to her unique concept of combining wine bottles and martini glasses with flowing romantic scenes.  Her dance background and love of theatre has inspired her to paint a dancing couple gently fused into a wine bottle, suggesting romance and sophistication.  These conversation pieces bring new interest to a cocktail bar, restaurants or dining area in a home.  Jane’s artwork can be seen on www.JaneMick.com .

A long-term member of SCAA, Jane said, “Winning the Gold again this year would be fantastic!”  Her primary entry in this year ‘s Classic will be a wine vineyard.  This gala event brings together art, music, wine and food in grand style.  Over 120 pieces of original art from over 50 local/regional artists will be judged, covering many styles and subjects including, realism, impressionism, abstract, plein air, figurative, landscape, wildlife and still life.

The Art Classic presents an opportunity for corporate, individual, and media sponsors to actively increase the visual art offerings in Santa Clarita.  Sponsors, with in-kind services or donations, are vital.  Sponsorship levels range from $250 to $5,000.  Benefits include having your name and/or logos on promotional materials, which include event flyers, posters, advertisements, signage, programs, and banners. Sponsors will receive VIP tickets to the event commensurate with the level of support.
