As a woman with a high regard for women feeling assured and confident about themselves, I have discovered that intimate portraits of women have been a way for women to build confidence and self realization. As I exclusively photograph women, I have come to recognize that this genre of photography is gratifying to me as an artist but also to my clients. It is exciting for me to be a part of a woman’s transformation from soccer mom to pin up model; but most of all to validate women for their unique beauty. Most of my clients that I photograph are over 40 years of age and have reached a time in their lives, which eludes a strong sense of sensuality; however, too often this part of a woman’s spirit has been suppressed due to busy life schedules and circumstances. And it is up to me, as a photographer, to bring this quality of a woman back to the surface and capture the very essence that makes her sensual and real.
Before a woman comes to my studio to be photographed she places herself on a journey to be pampered: nails, waxing, shopping for beautiful lacy undies or indulges in some fun playful leather outfits, stockings, shoes, make up and hair. Along the way she will meet extraordinary people that will share in her excitement and give the encouragement she needs.
When she arrives at the day of her photo shoot to be the center of attention she is surrounded by wonderful women such as the stylist and photographer who validate her, enable more self-confidence, and magnify her inner beauty.
When it comes time for the photo shoot, yes it is a bit uneasy at first, but the setting is so comfortable that all you can do is take a deep breath and face the fear; before you know it you conquered the “beast.” Doesn’t it feel good when you conquer a fear? As time passes you become more and more comfortable that the layers come off and you realize how comfortable you actually can be in your own skin looking good naked.
As the session comes to an end you will have had a day of pampering, fun, excitement and adventure. You will leave with anticipation to see your intimate portraits while feeling confident, vibrant, self assured, beautiful, liberated, empowered, redefined and sexy!
