Alan Shawn Feinstein, founder of the Feinstein Foundation, is giving $1 million dollars to hunger-fighting agencies throughout the country. Hunger Defense Fund invites you to join us in this effort to support the needy in our community.
The portion of the $1 million we receive will be determined by the amount of your generous monetary and food donations received by Hunger Defense Fund during March and April.
Hunger Defense Fund served over 2,800 needy children and their families at our Santa Clarita food bank in 2006. This was a 14 percent increase over the number of families we served in 2005. As the need in our community continues to rise, so does our need for food donations to keep our shelves stocked.
Let the Feinstein Foundation add some of their money to your donation to make a difference here in our community. We operate on a one percent budget. You can feel confident in giving to an organization that spends 99 cents of every dollar received on food to feed the hungry.
