It only takes a few weeks of school for parents to realize that their lives are consumed with driving, picking up, sports meetings, dance recitals and study time with their kids.  So why add one more thing, right?  To add one more event to your busy schedule is asking a lot of an already busy family schedule.
Due to the busyness of extracurricular activities and tasking schoolwork, families want to take days to rest and sleep in, usually on Sundays.  Sunday is a great day to sleep in, watch football, finish up last minute schoolwork, eat a big meal and allow for the following week to slowly start.  So why add one more thing?  Adding to a busy schedule is worth it if it allows your family to embrace a community with others and empowers your children to go out and make the world a better place.

I work for First Presbyterian Church of Newhall as the Children’s Ministry Director, and I feel that in a place like this, where we enable kids to learn and grow in Christ, giving up a little time on Sunday morning is a win-win situation.  There are many things that children enjoy and I feel it’s important in this ministry that we allow children to experience God in a fun, friendly atmosphere.  Summer is over, and fall is just beginning.  We’re starting to hit the ground running with all that children require for a fun filled year of sports and activities.  But I want to challenge you, if you are not a member of a place of worship, to consider us here at First Presbyterian.

We work with children at the church, empowering them to go out and make a difference in their world no matter what their age.  If you are looking for an alternative idea for Halloween for your children, then join us on Sunday, October 26, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. for a fun filled fall festival and see what I mean.  There will be games, candy, prizes, costumes and good family fun.  Not to mention a dunk tank!  We encourage children from pre-school age and up through elementary school to join us and wear a costume!  I would love to add more people to our family of faith.  Please consider this a personal invite to our community!
