The winter season is upon us and we all know what that means — Christmas is almost here. This winter why not participate in bringing hope and joy to a child somewhere in the world? How about purchasing $10 worth of little gifts to be sent in a shoebox to another country? Operation Christmas Child is a branch of Samaritan’s Purse that does exactly that. Since 1993, 61 million shoeboxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered across the globe. It’s fast, easy, and blesses both the sender and the receiver.
Lemstone Christian Bookstore is getting involved to help make the process easier for those who are ready to fill and send boxes. For your convenience, you can now purchase a Rubbermaid shoebox and some items for your box at our store. We are serving as a drop-off location in the Santa Clarita Valley during the month of November. You can also buy some boxes and items for gifts from us to take home and pack as a family. These boxes are gender and age specific. The tag included when you purchase your box will give you the option of picking the sex and age of the child you are shopping for. It is a wonderful way to minister and provide for people in desperate situations due to poverty, war, disease or natural disaster.
The goal of the boxes is to spread the good news and love of Jesus to children everywhere in the world. Gift suggestions include: school supplies, toys, hygiene items and a personal note from your family to the child. Get your church and friends involved today by hosting or attending a “packing party,” you will be able to find more information about these at our store. We hope that our store will be overflowing with packed boxes this winter to be sent to a child in need of hope.
