Thurs., Nov. 13, 10 a.m. — The Great Shakeout.  Join the City of Santa Clarita for the Great Shakeout, the largest earthquake drill in U.S. history, organized to inspire Southern Calfornians to get ready for big earthquakes.  All you have to do is Drop, Cover and Hold.  You can also tune into KHTS AM 1220 at 10 a.m., as Mayor Kellar does a count down for Santa Clarita to do the Shakeout drill.  Get your business, school, club, and family to participate.  For about 30 seconds all you have to do is find a safe place (under a desk/table, an inside hallway, and away from things that could potentially fall on on you) and drop, cover, and hold.  You can register your participation at www.Shakeout.org/register.   The potential for a magnitude 7.8 earthquake on the San Andreas fault is the basis of the Shakeout.  Take the time now to prepare, it is never too late to create a family plan, and get emergency supplies in together.  Contact Donna Nuzzi for more information.  661-250-3721 www.santa-clarita.com
