What to Explore when looking for the perfect preschool for your child?
There are many things a family should look for in their search for the best preschool that fits their child’s needs.
The teacher ratio and class size should be a bid factor. Will the teacher have time to focus on each individual child? At Creative Years, there are 6-8 students in each of the 2’s classrooms, and 10 students in the 3’s and Pre-K classes. This ensures that each child will receive one on one time with the teacher, and she can focus on the individual needs as well as class goals effectively.
You should look at the curriculum to see if it is well rounded and age appropriate. At Creative Years all areas of curriculum are incorporated. There is Art, Science, Math, Dramatic Play, Library, Music, Social Skills, Self Help Skills, problem solving and the list goes on. We check our goals with the local schools to make sure the program properly prepares the children for kindergarten. The children are successful and have fun while they are learning!
Don’t forget to ask about the qualifications of teachers, their passion for teaching young children and their years of experience. That says a lot about a school. Many of our teachers have worked here for ten or more years.
This is probably the only time your child will have an opportunity to be in a class setting that is small and intimate so keep that in mind when looking for a school for your child. Your first impression means a lot. If you feel your child is safe and having a wonderful time at preschool, you will be able to also enjoy your day.
