As we look toward 2009, I believe that one of our main objectives for the year should be making up, in our minds to do our part in society to promote unity and peace among the people around us. If each of us determined within ourselves to just promote peace and unity to the people around us, I believe we would see something very awesome begin to happen right in our community.
We have already discussed the fact that unity gives hope, encouragement, and comfort. I want to bring your attention to yet another benefit of uniting. Unity shows love. It is important to understand that love is not a feeling, but rather an action. “For God so loved the world that he gave.” If you love someone then that someone should find you giving to them. The best thing to give is a show of support, a show of unity.
Unity says, “I’m here for you – I’ve got your back – You can count on me – I support you – I love you!” Unity is an awesome display of love. I can’t help but wonder how much more successful some people would be if they could just feel that love, that unity.
As we go into 2009, make every effort to show someone you love them, by uniting with them and supporting them in their goals, dreams and ambitions. Make your overall theme for 2009 one of peace and unity. We need it, our society needs it, our children need it.
