A show of hands for those who drank and ate more than they wanted to over the holidays.  Well, that’s just about everybody.  Do you ever feel that you would like to put drinking behind you… like you’ve sort of grown out of it, but find it difficult to fully stop?  Most people quit several times for a few days or weeks or even months, but eventually a casual drink with dinner or at a social event begins it all over again.
You don’t have to be a fall-down drunk or alcoholic to find quitting a habit challenging.  There are specific reasons for this, which I have explained many times here in these pages.  Finding it difficult to quit drinking 100 percent and permanently does not make you weak or an alcoholic.  It is a natural part of the mind holding onto learned behaviors and it goes very, very deep.

But what if I told you that there was a way to leave it behind and you wouldn’t miss it or have to alter your social life one bit?  And you would have more time, lose weight, feel better, sleep better and your life would improve substantially in ways you cannot imagine simply by leaving behind the occasional, weekend-type drinking (or more)?

Most people don’t believe the small amount of drinking they do can have that much of an effect on their living experience, but it does.  Just ask anyone who has left it behind, and they will tell you the only thing they regret is not doing it sooner.  The rewards are indescribable and almost immediate.  With the help of a professional, the transition to total sober-style living can be easy and quick.  It’s the New Year and we’re all making those pesky resolutions.  When you add up the cost in dollars and time you spend on casual, social drinking and the lost time due to the mild, or severe, occasional hangover, the expense of a counseling program is minimal and is an investment that lasts a lifetime.

So put it on your list and this year, don’t wait — get it done right away and feel the difference it can make when you put something unhealthy behind you.  The experience will make you feel more dynamic, confident and better able to conquer many other inner and outer obstacles holding you back from your true dreams and aspirations.
