The Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley and Michael Berger (2006 SCV’s Man of the Year) invite you to join us at Robinson Ranch on Monday, May 21, for a day of golf, fun contests, awesome prizes and good food.
Michael Berger is our Title Sponsor this year. Our goal is to double the number of players that attended the tournament last year and double the proceeds that will allow the Club to continue to serve the women not only in this community, but also women all over the world. The Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley is a member of Zonta International, an organization of professional women whose mission is to improve the status of women globally through programs that offer educational training, provide legal assistance and health support. Locally, the Club provides grants to young women in public affairs as well as grants to mature women who are experiencing life-changing events.
Proceeds from the tournament will also go towards the support of two very important community service programs. One is the Healthy Kids Club, which provides support to young women residing in Val Verde ranging in age from eight to 14 years of age. Through various weekend activities, these young women are introduced to an environment that does not involve gangs, drugs or violence. We also offer scholarships to any of the HKC members who choose to continue their education whether it is through technical vocational training or a university. Healthy Women’s Day is an annual event that provides confidential breast cancer screening and, if needed, mammograms and clinical follow-up to uninsured and underinsured men and women of this community.
The cost for individual play is only $175 per player. The price includes play on the Valley course, a golf cart, bag tags, driving range, lunch on the course and a buffet dinner following the end of the tournament. For an additional $50, players will be able to purchase a Super Ticket which enters them into all of the on-course contests. They will also be eligible to win a 4-day trip to Cabo San Lucas (this does not include any air fare). Four players’ names will be drawn from those who have purchased a Super Ticket and they will compete for $100,000 at a shoot out on the 18th green located right in front of the club house. There will be three opportunities for players to try for a Hole-in-One. Don Fleming is offering a new Acura, Bob Kellar is offering $10,000 and Santa Clarita Golf Cars will award a new golf car. There will also be a unique longest drive contest. During dinner, there will the auctioning off of a week’s stay in a beautiful 3800 square foot 5-bedroom home on the island of Maui (not including airfare).
For the past 33 years, the Zonta Club of the Santa Clarita Valley has supported other non-profit organizations in this community and the proceeds from this tournament will allow the Club to continue its mission. The last day to register to play is May 7.
