It’s the lucky month of March, and fortune did indeed bring Santa Clarita some celebrities for me to report.  You may recognize our first celebrity—he’s the former sports broadcaster from the Channel 7 news.  Todd Donoho is an American radio and television journalist.  He has worked on ESPN Radio, Fox Sports Net, and on the nationally syndicated Mark & Brian Show.  I spotted Todd Donoho at the Hall of Fame Induction at the College of the Canyons.  Todd was the evening’s guest speaker.
World famous English entrepreneur, Sir Richard Branson, was seen giving a tour of the new V Australia’s Boeing 777 airplane after its arrival into LAX.  Santa Clarita Realty Executive realtor Sally Bond was part of an exclusive group who toured the new 777. Sir Richard Branson is best known for his ownership of the Virgin brand of over 360 companies including Virgin Atlantic Airways, Virgin Records and Virgin Mobile, to name a few.

Bass guitarist, Duff McKagan, was seen at Craig Duswalt’s Rock Star System for Success at the Valencia Hyatt.  Duff is currently the bassist for the hard rock band Velvet Revolver, and lead vocalist and guitarist for his own solo punk rock project, Loaded, but you may know him for his thirteen year stint with the rock band Guns N’ Roses.  Valencia resident and account manager for The Magazine of Santa Clarita and élite Magazine, Diana Hadsell, spotted the musician and stated, “He was a very nice guy.  Easy to talk to and very approachable.”

It’s no surprise that when you drive around our valley you will see multiple signs posted for film crews.  Why? Because filming is up in the Santa Clarita Valley.  Sources tell me that “NCIS” was seen filming at the park on Del Monte Drive in Valencia.  Also seen filming was CBS’s television series, “The Unit,” the action drama following a covert team of Special Forces operatives. The feature, “Warrior,” is also being filmed at the College of the Canyons in Valencia.  Thanks to Valencia resident, Craig Newman for the heads up for the multiple film crew sightings!

I need your help, Santa Clarita! Get your cameras ready and be on the lookout!  Do you have a celebrity sighting to report and a photo to share?  If so, please e-mail me at selgin@santaclaritamagazine.com .  I look forward to hearing from you.  Happy sightings!
