On March 1, 2009 the 3rd Annual Benefit Soccer Game will be held at College of the Canyons Cougar Stadium.  Chivas USA will face off against the Ventura Fusion in this charitable benefit that supports the Michael Hoefflin Foundation’s work with local families touched by pediatric cancer.  The game will kick off at 5 p.m. and will be played rain or shine.

This annual game is a very popular local event that has played to soldout crowds each year.  Last year, a determined crowd cheered on the players through a light rain and stayed through until the last half was played.  Children from the Michael Hoefflin Foundation escorted players onto the field at halftime to encouraging cheers from the fans.  The game raised over $44,000 in support of the Michael Hoefflin Foundation.

The Michael Hoefflin Foundation for children’s cancer is a public non-profit 501(c)(3) foundation that provides financial and emotional support to children and their families in the Santa Clarita and surrounding valleys.  We strive to educate the public and provide grant funding for innovative research to accelerate progress in the fight against pediatric cancer.
