The Trinity Classical Academy 3rd graders held their annual Greek Museum recently which concluded their studies in Greek mythology.

After a rigorous few months of learning about all the Greek gods, each student is assigned a character and memorizes a presentation. On the day of the museum, the gods are presented in full costume and parents and all the other classes at Trinity come to hear the students present. The gods stand like statues in a museum and when they are tapped they ‘come alive’ and visitors are treated to an in-depth presentation about that particular god.

“The Greek museum really brings our whole study of Greek mythology alive for the students,” says third grade teacher, Tracy Tait. “They each memorized significant facts about their characters and did a fantastic job playing their parts and presenting their characters. Zeus presided over our Mount Olympus and other students played the parts of Dionysus, the god of wine and fertility; Pandora, Hercules as well as many others. All the students at Trinity got a chance to hear about the importance of Greek history and its influence on Western civilization.”

The museum also included a Greek feast for all the visitors with traditional Greek dishes.
