To affirm is to declare positively, to assert solemnly. An affirmation is the assertion of the truth or existence of something. Now, let’s have a look at our inner dialogue. What is our inner dialogue about? Is it about worries, fears, lack, doomsday scenarios, or do we override the negative with positive ideas, dreams and statements?
Just for a moment sit back, put down the magazine and take a few deep breaths and scan your body. How happy or energized do you feel right now? Pick one of the feelings and on a scale of one to 10, one feeling very unhappy, or very low energy to 10 being very joyful or filled with lots of energy, what number would you say you are right now? Now that you have the number, I would like you to read the following affirmations and really take in the words you are reading. Please read these at least three times.
Affirmations for Happiness: I am healthy, happy and whole. My mind is at peace and I allow happiness and joy to express through me. I accept happiness in my life now.
Affirmations for Energy: I am filled with strength, energy and vitality. My body is renewed and refreshed. I can feel perfect health rushing through each and every cell of my body.
Now scan your body again, on a scale of one to 10 what number are you now after saying the affirmations?
If you were able to relax and take in the words of the affirmations you would have had a slightly higher number. This is how powerful words are. They have a profound effect on our bodies and state of mind. Remember, beautiful words can shift our energy to be happy and energized, while harsh words drain us of joy and energy. We are all human, and can’t always be in a good state of mind and that is when reading affirmations can help us get into a better place. You can create some of your own affirmations, and keep them with you, so that you can always read them whenever you recognize you are slipping and need a little boost.
