A new program has been developed by the Santa Clarita Artist’s Association called, “60 Minutes With An Artist,” which is a series of art lectures given by professional artists about the “Process of Creating a Painting.”
The art lecture is one hour long. The first art lecture was held on Sunday, February 22 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Valencia Library in the Community Room. The guest lecturer was Laura Wambsgan.
Every month throughout 2009 there will be an art lecture given by a different artist on a specific Sunday. The artist will talk about the creative process they use when creating their form of art. A poster will be in front of the entrance to the Valencia Library listing the date and time of each forthcoming art lecture and the name of the guest artist. This program is for children, youth, adults and seniors and provides extended art education learning. Admission is free. Each lecture will be videotaped to use at other city events for the public to view. The videotapes of the art lectures may be used by non-profits and schools. The guest artist presenting in April will be Don Trout on Sunday, April 26 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Valencia Library, Community Room. Hope you can come.
