Children look to parents for love and guidance in life’s basic lessons.  A child’s sense of self is shaped by the cues received from parental opinion.  To a child, a parent’s word is gospel.

They are like gods.  In infancy we learn we are good or bad.  We try following our parents’ hearts, uncertain of our own hearts’ needs, always seeking their approval.  Eventually, we discover Conditional Love; only worthy of love if predetermined conditions are met.  Hungry for approval, we search in school, our relationships and beyond.

Have you ever longed for other’s approval, doing things you’d rather not for the sake of fitting in, following the crowd and not your heart?  Fears of failure breed resentment and anger, making us forget what it was like when first we first met our mate or held our child.  By focusing on what’s lacking we lose sight of what we have today.  We lose being in the moment.

Feeling unworthy or unloved becomes ingrained in our core.  These core or limiting beliefs are programs running constantly, affecting thoughts and perceptions, saying we’re not good enough, attractive enough or smart enough.  Willing to believe little else these core beliefs color our character, how we perceive ourselves and others and how we respond to the world around us.  I believe we function generally from our heads instead of our hearts and it takes a great deal of time and effort (depending on the depth of your beliefs) to purge these thoughts and start thinking from the heart.

If everyone thought with their heart, what would the world look like?  Love is an action word, so look for the love within. Your heart is your core.  If you were not taught to follow your heart, where do you begin?  If you were never taught to love, how do you know what it looks like?

Are you looking for love in all the wrong places?  Feel your heart, connect in your relationship, fall back in love.  Find self love and bring order back to your life.  I can help.
