This was no ordinary quesadilla. You’d think cheese and meat would be enough to make a tasty classic quesadilla. But the one I ate had much more than the simple, traditional ingredients. Grilled chicken, fajita veggies, cheddar, jack and cojita cheeses with a mild ancho chile sauce packed into a chipotle flavored flour tortilla made up the Stuffed Fajita Quesadilla. Like I said before, this was no ordinary quesadilla.
La Salsa opened its doors to Newhall in November of 2008, but their strong flavors and bold salsas make the restaurant seem like an old tradition. Burritos, tacos, salads and more make up a menu filled with endless flavorful choices.
After the quesadilla was their new Green Chili Chicken Burrito made up of chicken, green chili, cheese, ranchero salsa and rice all stuffed into a lightly buttered and grilled flour tortilla. The sauce covering the chicken and cheese added a slight kick to this tasty dish. Be sure and come hungry if you order this one. It’s a giant burrito stuffed with the right amount of ingredients that blend perfectly. Finally, the Chipotle Shrimp Salad arrived. The salad was light and fresh, but didn’t hold back on flavors at all. Filled with romaine lettuce, grilled shrimp, avocado, beans, corn, salsa, cheese, tortilla strips and La Salsa’s spicy Chipotle dressing, it was an exceptional flavor combination.
What would a name like La Salsa be without salsa? Their salsa bar contains eight different kinds of mouthwatering salsas to add to your meal. You can add as much or as little hot flavors as you want. The different choices are; Fire-roasted tomato, Mexicana, Salsa Buena, Caliente, Mano, Avocado, Habanero and Verde. Dig in and don’t be shy.

Overall my restaurant experience was a positive one. Whether you’re in for a light fresh salad with chips and salsa or a massive, loaded burrito with all the trimmings, La Salsa has it all.
