Hart’s fall dance team seniors, Kimmi Schott, Carly Ramsey, Kaitlin Flores, and Melissa Dubron, welcomed the newest members of their team by surprising each of them with a “Hart Attack.”  Luckily, no one required a trip to the hospital in spite of the shock!

In reality, the team’s seven newest members, Sammi Altenau, Dani Burdick, Brittany Dubron, Courtney Olds, Stephanie Ramirez, and Lacey Sanchez awoke to find their front yards covered in bright red shiny hearts.  Each colorful display was also accompanied by a large sign, welcoming them to the Hart High School Dance Team.  Later that same morning, the seniors dutifully returned to retrieve their handiwork in preparation for their next attack.

Along with returning members, Jessica Vairo, Hannah Smith, Jessica Ramirez, Chelsea Jones, Brenna Giordano, and Reesie Dindal, the dance team has already mapped out their grueling summer training schedule in preparation for next year’s competition season.  Having made it this past year into the finals at the USA Nationals Competition where they received a second place trophy for their character dance, the team’s determination to return there again is just that much stronger!  Coach Jenn Basse has high hopes for the 2009-10 new team. She is both pleased and amazed at the major accomplishments the dance team has made in its six short years of existence.

It is not too soon to mark your calendars for the team’s second annual, “Hart of the Holidays” benefit performing arts showcase, which will take place on Saturday, December 5 in Hart High’s Auditorium.  All singers, musicians, and performing dance groups, from both schools and studios, are encouraged to contact the event coordinator, Daphne Dindal, at ddindal@gmail.com for further information.

Also, all aspiring dancers, from kindergarten through 12th grades are invited to attend this fall’s Hart High Dance Team Clinic to take place on Saturday, September 12 in the Hart High School gym. Informational flyers and permission slips should be distributed to all local schools in early August.

Finally, why not surprise that special someone on their birthday, anniversary, or other special occasion with their very own personal “Hart Attack?”  Simply make a donation to the dance team and its members will gladly surprise that special someone on your behalf, with clean-up included the following morning.

Please feel free to contact any Hart Dance Team member or the team’s fundraising coordinators, Terri Ramsey at ramseyBT@aol.com or Cathy Vairo at PasscoK9@aol.com , to schedule your “Hart Attack!”
